Ryan Stewart is a multi-platinum, Juno award winning producer / songwriter, mixer, and multi instrumentalist. He has worked with and written and produced numerous #1 and top 10, gold and platinum singles and albums with artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, Simple Plan, Owl City, Shawn Desman, Smash Mouth, Alan Walker, Coleman Hell, Trevor Guthrie, Jocelyn Alice, Carys, Victoria Duffield, and more, and has accumulated well over 1 billion streams worldwide.
Equally skilled at songwriting, producing, mixing (stereo and Atmos), and playing/recording a ton of different instruments, Ryan loves working with long established artists (Simple Plan, Owl City, Shawn Desman), and developing and breaking new artists (Carly Rae Jepsen, Victoria Duffield).
Known for his emotional and honest songwriting and production style, Ryan is obsessed with the art and craft of making records, and always finds a way to pull out the best in the songs he works on and the artists he works with. He works out of his studio The WineCellar in North Vancouver. Filled with vintage synths, instruments, microphones and gear, the studio is a creative hub that feels like home to both Ryan and the artists he works with.
Ryan also recently founded the brand new record label BAD NEIGHBR Records, a partnership with Canada’s foremost indie label Wax Records.
THE STUDIO
Ryan works out of his high end, uber creative, “one giant instrument” of a studio, The WineCellar. Surrounded by vintage analog synths and guitars, keyboards, pianos, drums and other instruments, as well as top end analog mic’s and outboard gear found only in some of the biggest studios in the world, Ryan has created a space that feels inviting, creative, and is “always on”, ready to record inspiration as it arises.
Ryan’s philosophy is to always be ready to capture whatever inspiration arises, whatever sound is needed, through the highest end gear and with the best possible performance and tone.
